Viktoria Sophie Conzelmann is an interdisciplinary artist based in Leipzig, Germany.
Her artistic practice explores hidden potentials of matter and the interconnectedness between human and non-human organisms. Starting from notational photography, she translates material transformation processes into sculptures, installations, texts, and photocollages. Her works are created from both solid materials such as stainless steel and glass, as well as from transient substances such as chemical compounds and organic matter.
Since 2024, her collaborative artistic research has focused on the social, ecological, and industrial legacy of uranium mining in the Ore Mountains leading to a web publication and binational exhibition (2025). In the summer of 2026, she is invited to present at the RC21 Conference in Vienna, speaking on multitemporal visual methodologies in the context of nuclear urbanism research.
Conzelmann holds a Diploma in Fine Arts/Photography from the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig with Prof. Heidi Specker and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature, Arts and Media from the University of Constance. In 2020, she was awarded the Art-Science-Economy-Grant of North-Rhine-Westphalia by Stiftung Künstlerdorf Schöppingen. She has since received residency fellowships in Switzerland, Sweden and Germany. In 2023, she was granted the Atelierstipendium Deutsche Bank AG, allowing to further her research on the material qualities of glass and stainless steel.
